Welcome to CAMEL
CAMEL is located at the South Auburn Fisheries Research Station of Auburn University. Founded in 2009, and located about 20 minutes south of the main campus, CAMEL facilities include wet and dry lab space, flow-through and recirculating culture systems, and a fluctuating number of 1/4 acre research ponds. Research focuses on the ecology and conservation of native species, ecology and control of invasive species, and development of ecologically friendly aquaculture techniques. Freshwater mussels and crayfish are of particular interest.
